Ciao GeorgeStevens benvenuto sul Forum di Gimp Italia,

leggo che da autodidatta fai notte per postprodurre tutte le tue foto;
certamente non mi permetto di dare consigli per come ti dedichi alla tua passione,
però, posso dirti, visto che lo hai pure chiesto, è come faccio io che sono un amatore come te.

Quando ne ho voglia, mi porto a corredo la fotocamera e faccio i miei scatti, non sempre ragionati ma, nella maggior parte sono scatti d'istinto.

A casa scarico tutte le foto sul pc e me le guardo con attenzione una ad una;
è sempre il mio istinto che ha il sopravvento, quelle che non mi piacciono per niente o che per essere accettabili hanno bisogno di un grosso lavoro di fotoritocco, le cancello subito;
le altre, invece, le divido tra quelle che non hanno bisogno (a mio gusto) di nessun ritocco perché l'inquadratura, la luce, i colori etc. mi soddisfano in pieno mentre, ce ne saranno altre che a mio modo di vedere, con qualche piccolo intervento, risulteranno sicuramente più che accettabili.

Fatto questo, mi dedicherò a ritoccare quando ne avrò il tempo (visto che non ho termini di consegna da rispettare) e soprattutto quando ho voglia perché, quando manca la voglia il lavoro non riesce mai bene.
Ecco, io opero in questo modo e, stress e/o notti in bianco non ne ho mai accumulato; sicuramente poi, ognuno di noi ha le sue abitudini e le sue necessità, magari qualche altro moderatore o utente avrà il suo modo/sistema di svolgere questi compiti e ce lo illustrerà, ...basta aspettare...

Anch'io dedico diverso tempo alla post produzione usando prevalentemente Darktable. Talvolta uso anche Rawtherapee, Art e Luminar 3, tutti gratuiti.
Naturalmente, quando occorre, adopero anche Gimp.
Ah, dimenticavo ... quando lo faccio, lo faccio con piacere :D .
